Yad Lashiryon

Yad Lashiryon is a museum and memorial built on the grounds of a former British fortress, displaying armored vehicles from different eras. The complex houses over 160 combat tanks and vehicles of various generations alongside a dedicated memorial space for fallen soldiers.

British authorities built the Latrun fortress in 1940 as a security installation. The site later became the foundation for establishing this Armored Corps memorial in 1982.

The memorial wall displays the names of thousands of fallen soldiers from the Armored Corps. A religious artifact from an 18th-century Jewish community also stands here, connecting different moments of history in a single space.

The site offers guided tours focused on military history and the technical details of the vehicles on display. Wear comfortable shoes as you will spend time outdoors walking across the elevated grounds.

A Sherman tank sits on top of the fortress tower, making it a distinctive landmark visible from across the surrounding valley. This unusual placement combines architecture with military history in an eye-catching way.
