Valle Hermoso, Hotel and picnic site in Pinto, Chile
Valle Hermoso is a hotel and picnic site in Pinto, in Chile's Ñuble region, set among old-growth forests at the foot of the Nevados de Chillán. The property includes three open-air thermal pools, grilling areas, picnic tables, a small market, a restaurant, and a camping area.
Valle Hermoso is recognized as the first thermal facility in the Nevados de Chillán area, developed as a place for families to enjoy the outdoors and hot springs together. Over time, accommodation and additional services were added, expanding what was originally a day-use site.
In winter, snow chains are required to reach the site by car, and arriving early in the morning helps avoid access restrictions on the mountain road. Layered clothing is a good idea year-round, as temperatures drop noticeably in the evening and on windy days.
The three thermal pools each sit at a different temperature, ranging from 35 to 42 degrees Celsius (95 to 108 degrees Fahrenheit), so visitors can move between them to find the level of heat that suits them. Lockers are available on site, which is not always the case at hot spring areas in the region.
