Moltivolti, Community restaurant in Ballarò district, Palermo, Italy.
Moltivolti is a restaurant in the Ballarò neighborhood of Palermo that blends Mediterranean cuisine with flavors from Senegal, Tunisia, Afghanistan, and Palestine. Dishes are created using ingredients sourced from local markets throughout the city.
The restaurant was founded in 2014 by fourteen people from eight different countries, including Senegal, Zambia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, France, Spain, Gambia, and Italy. This international group came together to create a shared space for cultural exchange through their work.
The place is run by chefs from different backgrounds who share their own cooking traditions and build bridges between their cultures through food. Visitors experience the personal story of each person cooking in the kitchen.
The restaurant is located in the lively Ballarò neighborhood and opens daily from early morning until late evening, so you can visit at various times. Reservations are recommended, especially if you are coming with larger groups.
Since 2021 the original space has grown into a network that includes Altrove coffee bar, Barconi ice cream shop, and Sopra guesthouse. These three additional places offer new ways to experience the community's approach to hospitality and food.
