Fifteen temperature-controlled greenhouses contain tropical plants, exotic birds, mini golf course, animal exhibits, retail shops, and a full-service restaurant.
The establishment began in 1941 as a vegetable producer with a small fruit stand before expanding into citrus trees in 1955 and tropical plants in 1972.
The gardens serve as headquarters for the Ruthven Apple Festival, generating funds for the Windsor and Essex County Community Living Organization through seasonal celebrations.
The facility maintains year-round operations, offering indoor activities, gardening supplies, dining services, and educational programs regardless of external weather conditions.
Four generations of the same family have maintained this agricultural enterprise, transforming it from a simple produce stand into a regional entertainment destination.
