Secret Beach

Secret Beach is a sandy shore in Mirissa with three main sections: a central swimming area, a sheltered tidal rock pool called Blue Lagoon, and Palm Cove offering snorkeling. The layout combines open sandy spaces with rock formations and underwater zones for exploration.

The beach stayed hidden from mainstream tourism for years, keeping its natural character while main Mirissa Beach developed into a popular destination. Only recently did this place gradually become more known to visitors.

Local fishermen work along the shore using methods passed down through generations. Their daily routines are woven into the rhythm of the place and give insight into how communities have lived with the sea.

Getting there requires about a 200-meter walk from the nearest road, with well-defined paths guiding the way. Tuk-tuk services from Mirissa town center offer the most straightforward transport option.

A natural rock formation creates a pool where five different sea turtle species regularly pass through during early morning and evening hours. These encounters make the place memorable for those who time their visit well.
