Austin Central Library, Austin Public Library

Austin Central Library is a large public library with six floors located in downtown Austin. It contains reading areas, community meeting spaces, and a rooftop garden that overlooks Lady Bird Lake.

The building opened in 2017 as a modern replacement for the former Faulk Central Library. This marked a major shift in how the city provides public library services to residents.

The library serves as a community gathering space where people from across Austin come together for classes, workshops, and exhibitions. Visitors from different neighborhoods meet here to learn new skills and experience local art displays.

The building is easy to reach on foot and well-connected by public transportation. Most areas of the facility are accessible to visitors with different mobility needs.

The fifth floor houses an Innovation Lab where visitors can use 3D printers and audio recording equipment for free. This space allows people to create their own digital and physical projects.
