Plage de Grasseuil

Grasseuil is a small beach at the entrance of Cap Ferrat in Villefranche-sur-Mer, composed of pebbles and sand with houses bordering the left side and a private harbor on the right. The cove is framed by rocky outcrops that create a sheltered setting along the water.

The beach developed as Villefranche-sur-Mer grew into a Mediterranean destination in the early 1900s, when the surrounding area began filling with coastal homes and private harbors. The layout of houses and docks has remained largely unchanged since that period.

The beach sits between private residences and small docks where locals maintain boats, showing how people here blend home life with maritime access. You can observe how the space functions as a natural extension of the surrounding neighborhood down to the waterfront.

Access is via the Basse Corniche road and Avenue de Grasseuil, where street parking is limited and fills up quickly during peak season. Arriving early gives you better chances of finding a spot close to the beach.

The beach is shaped like a natural creek with rocky coves that provide shade throughout the day in different spots. It offers an unusual vantage point for watching large cruise ships as they anchor in Villefranche Bay just offshore.
