Plage de Passable

Plage de Passable is a private beach at the base of the Cap Ferrat peninsula and stretches along a cove with sand and small pebbles facing Villefranche bay. It has loungers and is run by a beachfront restaurant.

The beach was originally called Letetia and was developed in the early 1900s to serve guests of the new Grand Hotel. The hotel opened in 1908 and shaped the development of this coastal area.

The restaurant here is run by the Vestri family and serves Mediterranean dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Diners enjoy their meals while gazing out at the French Riviera coastline.

Access to this beach is private and it sits at a sheltered spot in the cove, so arriving early in the morning works well. The facilities are well-maintained and the place is best reached on foot from the center of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

The beach faces west, which means visitors can watch sunsets over Villefranche bay throughout the year. This position makes it a favorite spot for evenings, especially when the light turns soft.
