Villa La Mauresque features a rectangular plan centered around a patio with two superimposed galleries and a southeast corner tower with white painted facades.
Felix Charmettant purchased land on Cap Ferrat in 1900 and built the villa in Moorish style before Somerset Maugham acquired it in 1927.
The property became a meeting point for writers and intellectuals, receiving notable visitors including Winston Churchill, T.S. Eliot, and Virginia Woolf.
The villa contains seven bedrooms, four bathrooms, a library in the tower, and service areas connected by an elevator system.
An unexploded bomb was discovered in Somerset Maugham's bedroom when he returned to the villa after World War II in 1946.
