Mullerthal Trail Route 3

This 37.7-kilometer trail winds through protected stream valleys, steep rock formations, dense forests, and open landscapes offering diverse natural scenery and challenging terrain for experienced hikers.

The route passes by two medieval castle ruins, including Larochette Castle with its commanding stone walls and Beaufort Castle featuring distinctive Renaissance architectural elements from centuries past.

Hikers can visit Beaufort Castle to taste Cassero blackcurrant liqueur, which is still produced locally within the castle premises according to traditional regional methods and recipes.

The trail requires approximately 11 hours to complete and is accessible from multiple starting points including Müllerthal, Beaufort, Medernach, Larochette, and Heffingen villages with free public transportation connections.

The Kallektuff spring features a 700-meter wooden footbridge where moss-covered calcareous rock releases clear water that collects in a natural basin, creating a colorful display throughout the year.
