Palm Beach

Palm Beach is a sand beach in the Northern Beaches region extending from Little Head to Barrenjoey Head, featuring an ocean pool at the southern section and surfing conditions at the northern end. The wide sandy expanse sits between rocky headlands and offers various activities for visitors of different interests.

European settlement began following Governor Phillip's exploration in 1788, with the name derived from native Cabbage Tree palms found near the boat harbor. The location later became a favored seaside destination for Sydney's wealthier residents.

The beach has served as the filming location for the television series Home and Away, representing the fictional seaside town of Summer Bay throughout its production run.

The beach is reachable via public transport in about 90 minutes from Sydney center or by a 20-minute seaplane flight from Rose Bay for those seeking a faster option. Both routes offer different advantages depending on your travel time and preferences.

A walking trail at the northern end leads to Barrenjoey Lighthouse, reaching Sydney's northernmost point with sweeping views across Pittwater, Broken Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. The walk is moderately easy and rewards visitors with expansive panoramic vistas of the coastal landscape.
