Sapi Island, Marine park islet in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
Located within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Sapi Island spans 25 acres of land surrounded by clear waters and white sand beaches.
The island became part of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park in 1974, establishing a protected area for marine conservation in the Sabah region.
Traditional Malaysian fishing methods remain visible around Sapi Island, where local fishermen practice their trade in the surrounding waters.
Visitors reach the island through regular boat services from Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal in Kota Kinabalu, with journeys lasting approximately 20 minutes.
The southeast section of Sapi Island contains a coral garden inhabited by stingrays, cuttlefish, and moray eels, making it suitable for beginner divers.
