Description
The Passadiço de Carvoeiro is a wooden boardwalk that runs about 570 meters along the coast, connecting the Chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation to the Algar Seco geological formations. The path sits atop limestone cliffs and provides access to cave formations and rocky coves below.
History
This location was originally a defensive position, as the Fort of Our Lady of the Incarnation protected the Algarve coast from threats. The modern boardwalk was later built to incorporate the remains of this historical structure into a public walking route.

Local fishing boats leave daily from Carvoeiro Beach, and you can watch this working tradition from the boardwalk as fishermen prepare their catch. The presence of these boats and their activity shapes the daily rhythm of the waterfront.
