Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve

Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve, Nature reserve and archaeological site in Cayo District, Belize.

The reserve features an extensive network of 19 limestone caves through which the Caves Branch River flows, creating natural tunnels for exploration.

Archaeological findings within the cave system indicate regular use by Maya civilizations for ceremonial activities before the reserve's establishment in 2009.

Local guides share knowledge about the geological formations and Maya heritage while leading visitors through the subterranean passageways.

The reserve operates daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering cave tubing tours for approximately 60 USD, including equipment and lunch.

Schools of eyeless fish inhabit the cave waters, while ancient Maya paintings remain preserved on the high cave ceilings.
