Plages du Midi

Plages du Midi is a sandy beach in Vallauris stretching roughly 700 meters along Boulevard du Midi with white sand and Mediterranean waters. The shore has loungers and umbrellas to rent, shower facilities, a children's play area, and a cycling path running alongside it.

The beach grew together with Vallauris, which became known in the 20th century for its pottery industry and drew many artists to settle here. This craft tradition shaped the town's character and made it an important center for ceramic production.

Beach clubs here serve Mediterranean food while showing off Vallauris' connection to ceramics through decorative touches and design details. This link to local crafts appears naturally in how the spaces are decorated and built.

The beach is easy to walk to and has plenty of room for all kinds of visitors, especially quieter in the mornings and early afternoons. The best times to visit are spring and fall when the water is pleasant and crowds are lighter.

During summer months, floating platforms are placed in the water creating separate swimming zones away from the main shoreline. These pontoons give visitors a quieter option compared to the busier parts of the beach.
