Central Coast Council

Central Coast Council is the local government area serving the coastal region north of Sydney in New South Wales. It manages municipal services across several towns and coastal communities spread over approximately 1,681 square kilometers.

The council was formed in 2016 from the merger of two previous local government bodies serving the area. This administrative reorganisation brought together longstanding councils into a single unified governance structure.

The council maintains fifteen elected members across five wards, representing a population of 346,596 residents from diverse backgrounds and communities.

The council's main offices are based in Gosford, serving the surrounding communities and coastal towns. Residents and visitors can access information about local services and municipal matters at the administrative centre.

In October 2020, the New South Wales government suspended the elected council and appointed an administrator following an $89 million budget deficit.
