Dharug National Park

The national park extends across 14,834 hectares of sandstone cliffs and dense bushland on the northern bank of the Hawkesbury River.

The Old Great North Road, constructed between 1826 and 1836 by 720 convicts, represents early Australian transportation infrastructure within the park.

The park contains numerous Aboriginal sites and forms part of the Sydney sandstone biogeographical region, connecting multiple conservation areas around metropolitan Sydney.

Visitors can access two camping grounds at Mill Creek and Ten Mile Hollow, with facilities for overnight stays in the natural environment.

During nighttime walks, visitors can observe nocturnal wildlife including yellow-bellied gliders, greater gliders, and sugar gliders in their natural habitat.
