Santos Museum of Economic Botany, Botanical museum in Adelaide Botanic Garden, Australia
The Museum of Economic Botany displays thousands of plant specimens and models demonstrating the connection between raw materials and consumer products through permanent exhibitions.
Established in 1881, this Greek revival-style museum drew inspiration from London's Kew Gardens institution and remains the last surviving economic botany museum in Australia.
The museum's collection includes Aboriginal plant products, tapa cloths, and international botanical specimens gathered through a network of global contributors since 1865.
Visitors can explore the museum free of charge from Wednesday to Sunday between 9 AM and 4 PM, with wheelchair accessibility throughout the building.
The museum houses 210 detailed papier-mâché fungi models and German-crafted fruit replicas that served as educational tools for farmers in the 1800s.
