Atlantis-Aquaventure, Water park in Palm Jumeirah, United Arab Emirates
Aquaventure is a water park on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai with over 105 water slides, including the Aquaconda measuring 150 meters in length. The facility extends across several towers and levels connected by stairs, bridges and elevators.
The water park opened in 2008 as part of the Atlantis The Palm Resort and was the first major water park on an artificial island at that time. The facility has undergone several expansions since then and added new sections for different age groups.
The park takes its name from the mythical Atlantis and connects this ancient legend with modern entertainment on an artificial island. The design of the facility shows warm sand colors and tropical planting that match the surrounding beaches and palms.
The facility opens daily at 09:30 and closes at 18:00, with separate facilities for adults and children. Changing rooms and lockers are available, and arriving early helps avoid waiting times at the slides.
Visitors can swim through transparent tubes surrounded by sharks and rays in a tank containing 11 million liters of water. The passage offers an unusual perspective on these animals up close as they glide above and beside swimmers.
