Tellia, Pizzeria and restaurant in Turin, Italy
Tellia is a pizzeria and restaurant on Via San Tommaso in central Turin, Italy, focused on pizza al taglio sold by weight. The interior is simple and clean, with pizzas displayed behind glass so you can point to the slice you want before it is reheated.
The first location opened in 2019 under baker Enrico Murdocco, who had trained with other pizza makers and wanted to offer slices for takeaway or counter eating. Later shops followed in the Santa Rita district and on Via Maria Vittoria, the last one under the name Tellia Lab with a stronger focus on baked goods.
The style follows the Roman way of baking large rectangular trays in advance, so customers see the finished topping before choosing. This setup makes the meal feel direct and social, since people gather around the counter and make their picks in view of others.
You can choose a slice size that suits your appetite and pay by weight, then eat standing, at a table, or take it away. Where seating is available, it works well for a quick lunch or an unhurried evening meal without complicated formalities.
One of the pizzas here is crowned with slow-cooked octopus, almonds and a mustard sauce, a combination that helped the kitchen gain national notice. A reheated slice sometimes arrives a little less hot than one just out of the oven, but the crust keeps enough crunch to make the wait worthwhile.
