The trail links to the Finisterre Way pilgrimage route, forming an important segment for walkers continuing their journey beyond Santiago de Compostela. Local residents use this section regularly as a connection between neighborhoods and as a way to spend time in nature.

The trail is accessible from multiple points between Carmen de Abaixo Bridge and Ponte Sarela, with parking facilities and bicycle access available. The walk takes about 30 minutes and suits walkers of different fitness levels.

Just a few minutes from Santiago's center, the trail reveals old mills and water channels from the river's industrial past. These remains let visitors understand the site's former importance without needing a long detour.
