Haad Thian, Beach in Ban Tai, Thailand
Haad Thian is a sand beach on the east side of Ko Pha Ngan island with fine white sand and turquoise waters. The shoreline extends for several hundred meters and offers a simple setting for swimming and spending time by the sea.
The location began as a simple fishing area and gradually transformed from the 1980s onward into a modest tourist destination. Development remained limited, and the place kept its relaxed and uncomplicated character.
Local fishermen continue their traditional methods along Haad Thian, sharing the waters with tourists while maintaining centuries-old fishing practices.
You can reach the beach by boat from Ko Pha Ngan or directly from mainland Thailand with regular boat connections. The shoreline is relatively easy to access and works well for swimming, especially on calmer days.
During low tide, natural rock formations create small sheltered pools that are separated from the open ocean. These formations give visitors an extra area to explore and swim without strong currents pulling them away.
