Phaeng Yai Waterfall

The multi-tiered Phaeng Waterfall drops from a high cliff in the mountains near Ban Maduawan village, flowing through granite rocks and dense forest.

The waterfall area became part of Than Sadet-Ko Pha-ngan National Park, with a ranger station established to protect the natural surroundings and monitor visitors.

The name Phaeng derives from local dialect meaning small rock shelters, indicating the cascade's characteristic limestone formations and continuous water flow patterns.

Visitors can access the waterfall via a dirt road leading to the park entrance, where hiking trails connect different waterfall levels and viewpoints.

From the summit observation point near the waterfall, visitors obtain panoramic views of Ko Pha-ngan island and witness sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand.
