Haad Chaloklum

Haad Chaloklum is a sandy beach on the northern coast of Koh Pha-Ngan, featuring a 2-kilometer stretch of white sand that slopes gently into clear water. Coconut palms line the shore, and traditional wooden fishing boats rest along the waterline, giving the area an authentic village character.

The settlement emerged in the 1950s as a fishing community when local families built their first homes and developed traditional fishing methods. Over the decades, the village has endured while maintaining its connection to the sea and its time-honored practices.

Local fishermen practice their trade daily, launching wooden boats at dawn and selling their catch at nearby markets in the morning. The rhythm of village life moves with the tides, and visitors can observe how deeply the community remains connected to the sea.

The beach is reachable by songthaew from Thong Sala pier, with the journey taking roughly 25 minutes via paved mountain roads. Plan to arrive early in the day to enjoy quieter conditions and witness the fishing boats launching in the morning.

Natural pools formed by coral formations emerge during low tide, creating protected swimming areas where water remains calm regardless of sea conditions. These hidden pools are ideal for safer swimming on rougher days.
