Rijeka Crnojevića

Rijeka Crnojevića is a river that stretches about 13 kilometers from Obod cave through Montenegro's landscapes before flowing into Lake Skadar. The waterway cuts through green slopes and forms distinctive natural patterns along its course.

In the 15th century, this river area was the center of Ivan Crnojevic's territory and housed the first printing shop in the southern Slavic lands. This period established the place as an important site of culture and administration.

The stone bridge built in 1853 by Prince Danilo shapes the character of the place and connects villages on both banks. Local people still use it in their daily lives, and it remains a central landmark for the region.

You can reach the river via marked roads from Cetinje, with parking areas located near viewpoints for comfortable observation. Local restaurants close by serve fresh fish dishes caught from these waters.

From the Pavlova Strana viewpoint, the river forms a distinctive horseshoe shape that curves through the landscape in an unexpected way. Water lilies float on quieter sections, creating a natural scene that few visitors fully appreciate from below.
