Pantai Dewaruci Jatimalang

Pantai Dewaruci Jatimalang is a public beach featuring dark sand shores along the Java Sea, with pine trees offering shaded rest areas throughout the shoreline. The open coastal layout allows for comfortable walking and exploration of the tidal zone, especially during morning and late afternoon hours.

The beach was formally developed as a tourist destination in 2006 by local authorities seeking to balance recreation with coastal conservation. This shift allowed the community to use the shoreline for both leisure and environmental stewardship.

The beach serves as a gathering place for the local fishing community, who observe traditional maritime customs and maintain their connection to the sea through regular rituals.

The beach is open daily and is best for walking in the morning when temperatures are comfortable and the sun is not too intense. Bring comfortable footwear for the sand and allow time to explore the tidal zone, which is especially interesting when the water level is low.

A striking feature is the 6-meter tall statue of Dewaruci, created by Balinese artist Nyoman Alif in 2018, which serves as the beach's focal point. This sculpture represents a figure from Javanese mythology and creates a memorable landmark for visitors to reference.
