The Galetas Beach

The Galetas Beach sits along the shore of Sainte-Croix Lake and offers both grass areas and pebble sections to suit different preferences. The shoreline extends with spaces for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports in a natural setting.

The beach emerged in 1975 when the artificial lake was created to supply water to the region. The rising water transformed the landscape and formed the shoreline that exists today.

The beach has lifeguards during summer months and first aid stations on site for visitor safety. Parking areas and picnic facilities are available to make your visit comfortable.

The beach sits at the entrance to Verdon Gorges, where limestone cliffs drop steeply into the water. From here, visitors can directly see and explore the dramatic rock formations that define this landscape.
