Astrakeri, Sand beach in Northern Corfu, Greece.
Astrakeri is a beach on the north coast of Corfu between Roda and Sidari with brown, coarse sand mixed with scattered pebbles. The seabed slopes gradually, creating shallow areas before dropping to deeper waters.
A small jetty was built here to support maritime activity and connections between islands for the fishing community. This structure shows how the place was shaped mainly by local fishing for a long time.
The beach is shaped by fishing communities who maintain traditional ways of life and use the space daily. Simple taverns right by the water are part of the everyday landscape and show how fishing and tourism coexist here.
The beach is about 35 kilometers north of Kerkyra and is easy to reach by car, with parking spaces near the shore. The shallow areas at the start make it easy to enter the water, while deeper zones are available for more experienced swimmers.
The beach is often overlooked by visitors even though it is less crowded than nearby famous beaches. This makes it a quieter spot for swimming and relaxing away from the bigger tourist crowds.
