Spiaggia di Norsi, Beach in Golfo Stella, Elba Island, Italy
Spiaggia di Norsi is a beach along the Golfo Stella coastline featuring dark sand mixed with pebbles and carved into two sections by a rocky outcrop. This natural rock formation creates distinct zones within the cove, each with its own character and sheltered qualities.
This location is part of Capoliveri municipality and has largely preserved its natural coastal shape as Elba developed as a tourist destination during the 1900s. Infrastructure was added gradually to accommodate visitors while maintaining the character of the shoreline.
The beach serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors experience the relaxed coastal lifestyle typical of the Mediterranean. Families come together in the sheltered coves to spend time by the water, especially during evening hours.
Two different paths lead to the beach: a wider route suitable for most visitors and a narrower steeper path from Capo Norsi. Wear sturdy shoes as the trails are uneven and rocky.
The sand here contains dark minerals that create a striking visual contrast with the turquoise waters, making the water appear exceptionally inviting. This mineral composition is characteristic of the volcanic geology found on Elba.
