Marinaretti

Marinaretti is a beach on Italy's western coast near Nettuno, featuring a sandbar that produces left and right-hand waves for water sports enthusiasts. The shoreline stretches for several hundred meters with varying conditions depending on tide and season.

The beach gained recognition after World War II when American military personnel brought surfing to the Anzio region. This introduction established the location as one of the first dedicated spots for the sport on the Italian coast.

Local surfers maintain regular gatherings at Marinaretti, exchanging knowledge about wave patterns and organizing informal competitions throughout the surfing season.

The beach benefits from consistent north-northwest winds, particularly between November and March. Early morning visits offer the calmest conditions for planning your time there.

The sand structure creates waves of varying heights that allow beginners and experienced practitioners to share the same area. This natural variation keeps a day there interesting for different skill levels.
