Praia da Barrinha

Praia da Barrinha is a sand beach along the Atlantic coast featuring a wide expanse of golden sand bordered by wooden walkways and natural dunes. The shoreline extends over a considerable length with distinct zones for different activities and interests.

The beach developed adjacent to a traditional fishing settlement where residents built wooden huts in the early 1900s as seasonal dwellings for fishing activities. These early structures shaped the local identity and the community's relationship with the sea.

The northern section is used by local fishermen who continue traditional maritime practices, while the southern area draws swimmers and surfers throughout the year.

Outdoor parking, bars, restaurants, and shower facilities are available throughout the beach area. Lifeguard coverage extends across the main swimming zones during the warmer months.

The sea temperature stays relatively cool throughout the year, creating favorable waves for surfing and bodyboarding. Few visitors realize how consistent these conditions are, making it a preferred spot for water sports enthusiasts.
