Cala Varques

Cala Varques is a narrow sand beach on Mallorca's eastern coast framed by tall limestone cliffs and pine forests. The cove stretches roughly 70 meters and divides naturally into two informal sections for different types of visitors.

The cove began as a fishing spot for local families before becoming a bathing destination over time. Authorities removed a beach bar to manage visitor numbers and protect the environment.

The cove accommodates two distinct visitor groups that naturally respect their separate areas without formal barriers. This informal division reflects how the place has evolved to welcome different preferences in a balanced way.

Access requires a roughly 2 kilometer walk on a rocky path from nearby Cala Romantica. There are no facilities on-site, so visitors need to bring water, snacks, and personal supplies.

The seafloor holds several submerged caves, including Cuevas del Pirata and Cova des Coloms, which attract experienced divers and cave explorers. These underwater chambers offer a glimpse into the geological formations beneath the surface.
