Playa Manuel Antonio

The 1.7-kilometer stretch of white sand meets clear Pacific waters, bordered by dense tropical forest containing numerous walking paths and observation points.

Manuel Antonio beach gained protected status in 1972 with the establishment of the national park, preserving its natural features from commercial development.

Local families gather at the beach during weekends to swim, share traditional meals, and participate in beach football matches with occasional visits from wild monkeys.

Visitors need to purchase entrance tickets to the national park, with access limited to 600 people per day and earliest admission starting at 7:00 AM.

Three different species of monkeys regularly approach the beach area, making it one of few places where tourists can observe these animals in their natural habitat.
