Callabash Bay Beach, Sand beach in Treasure Beach, Jamaica.
Callabash Bay Beach is a sand beach stretching about 400 meters with brown sand along a quiet bay. Rocky formations line both ends and also break through the middle of the shoreline.
The name comes from Treasure Beach Hotel, founded by a Canadian businessman in the early 1900s. The settlement later developed around this central location.
Fishing shapes daily life in this coastal village and remains central to how the community works. You will see fishermen launching boats in the morning and unloading their catch in the afternoon along the shore.
The beach is free to access during the day and restaurants and bars sit right along the shore. You can easily find a spot to relax and purchase food or drinks nearby.
The sand has an unusual composition with dark brown grains mixed with black magnetite. This natural pattern emerges from mineral deposits and makes the beach visually distinct from other nearby shores.
