Carmel Moravian Church, Moravian church building in Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica
The stone and mortar structure features a large masonry belfry with a wooden cupola housing a bell on a hilltop location.
Established in 1826, the church received its first minister John Scholefield in 1827 and underwent an expansion in 1859 to accommodate more attendees.
The church maintains a burial ground called God's Acre, spanning 1,700 square meters, where early missionaries from Germany and Central Europe rest.
Located 2.4 kilometers west of Newmarket, the church complex includes a manse with rainwater collection system and adjacent primary school facilities.
A German pipe organ from 1895 remains within the church, which measures 37 meters in length and 22 meters in width.
