Seven Mile Beach, Sand beach in Negril, Jamaica
Seven Mile Beach is a sand beach on Jamaica's western coast near Negril with white sand and turquoise water. It stretches for several kilometers and is lined with numerous resorts, restaurants, and water sports facilities.
The area was largely undeveloped until the 1960s when it began transforming into a major tourist destination. This shift brought international visitors seeking Caribbean beach experiences to the region.
Local vendors offer traditional Jamaican crafts and fresh fruits along the shore, while reggae music flows from beachfront establishments throughout the day.
The beach has multiple entry points with resorts, restaurants, and water sports rentals spread along northern and southern sections. Visitors can easily move between different areas and find shade under palm trees throughout.
The beach divides into two distinct sections at Rutland Point: Long Bay in the south and Bloody Bay in the north. Despite its name, the actual length is shorter than seven miles.
