Mayfield Falls

Mayfield Falls is a series of more than 20 small cascades flowing along a river through dense forest, with natural pools scattered throughout for swimming. The area is covered with lush plant growth, including many fern varieties that blanket the ground.

The falls were shaped through natural erosion of the Mayfield River over time and have long been part of the local landscape. The river connects to larger waterway systems in the rural Westmoreland region.

Local guides share knowledge about native plants found throughout the grounds and demonstrate how traditional treatments use minerals naturally present in the water. Visitors can observe how the location serves as a resource for natural wellness practices.

Wear sturdy shoes for steep and wet pathways, as the grounds feature stairs and natural stone throughout. Bring a towel, as many visitors swim in the natural pools scattered along the route.

The Washing Machine is the largest cascade and has its own name because of how the water moves and swirls at this spot. This location stands out and creates a different experience from the other pools along the way.
