Gully Beach

Gully Beach extends for 460 meters along the coast with dark brown sand and natural vegetation covering the western sand dunes.

The beach formed its current landscape following a 1907 earthquake that redirected a river, transforming the area from a riverbed into a sandy shore.

The beach serves as a meeting place for local fishing communities who maintain traditional fishing practices passed down through generations.

Visitors can park their vehicles in a grass area that fits 25 cars and access the beach through parochial roads off the main routes.

A natural gully flows into the sea at the eastern end while coral reefs lie 60 meters offshore, creating habitats for marine species.
