Lilla Bommen guest harbour
Lilla Bommen is a guest harbour in central Göteborg where boats dock among modern buildings and old warehouse structures. The space runs along the waterfront with restaurants, bars, and cafés that face directly onto the docks.
The harbour was established in the 17th century as a trading hub and shaped Göteborg's growth as a maritime city. Later the area was redesigned and now serves as public space rather than purely as a commercial zone.
The name "Lilla Bommen" means "the little pump" and recalls when water pumps once served the harbor. Today the place functions as a meeting point where locals and visitors stroll, dine, and watch boats pass by.
The harbour is easy to reach on foot and has well-marked paths along the waterfront. Visitors can come at any time to walk around or sit at one of the many eateries without needing to plan ahead.
The spot is known for displaying some of the largest sailing vessels in Sweden moored right here. These impressive boats define the character of the place and reveal the region's strong sailing culture.
