The Nest, Rooftop bar and terrace in Zürich, Switzerland.
The Nest occupies the sixth floor of the historic Storchen hotel and combines a modern bar with comfortable lounge seating areas. The spaces offer sweeping views of the Limmat River, the old town, and the surrounding roofscape.
The building is part of the legendary Storchen hotel, which has stood on this site since medieval times and reflects Zürich's past. The rooftop terrace was newly built between 2019 and 2020, making this space accessible to the public.
The space draws from Zürich's architectural language, with copper tones and materials that echo the surrounding buildings and church roofs. Visitors use the terrace for both social gatherings and quiet moments taking in the views.
Access is through the hotel lobby and does not require a hotel stay, making a simple visit possible by checking in at the front desk. The space accommodates guests depending on weather and visitor numbers, so coming early during nice weather is wise.
The Onyx bar was designed after the famous American Bar in Vienna, created by Austrian architect Adolf Loos. This connects the modern Swiss venue to an important strand of European cocktail culture.
