Zunfthaus zum Rüden, Medieval guild house at Limmatquai, Zürich, Switzerland

The Haus zum Rüden stands as a stone building with thick walls and a protruding timber-framed upper floor along the Limmat River.

The city council ordered the reconstruction of the original timber structure into stone walls in 1348, transforming it into the city hall.

The Gesellschaft zur Constaffel society, established in 1336, uses the building for assemblies and maintains medieval craft traditions.

The building houses a restaurant open daily from 7 AM to midnight, with three separate halls accommodating up to 250 people.

The building's name derives from the wolf hound in its heraldry, which symbolized aristocratic hunting rights in medieval times.
