Reata Restaurant
Reata Restaurant is a restaurant with a bar and rooftop terrace in Fort Worth, Texas, spanning multiple levels. The space offers indoor and outdoor seating with city views plus private dining rooms for groups and events.
The restaurant was founded in 1995 by Al Micallef and originally occupied the 35th floor of a building until a tornado damaged it in 2000. Following this event, the place relocated several times and spent over 20 years in Sundance Square.
The restaurant takes its name from the film Giant, which was shot in nearby locations and connects the place to regional storytelling. Inside, Western and rustic elements reflect how Texan traditions are expressed through food and decor.
The restaurant serves lunch daily and dinner five nights a week. The bar operates continuously during opening hours and offers full drink service throughout the day.
The restaurant was displaced from its original 35th-floor location by a tornado and has undergone several relocations since. This resilience and repeated fresh starts reveal how much the place means to the community.
