City Place, Mixed-use skyscraper complex in Fort Worth, Texas

City Place is a mixed-use development featuring two 20-story office towers in Fort Worth's central business district connected by an elevated pedestrian skyway. The complex provides office space and parking with direct access to multiple transportation options throughout the downtown area.

The site was developed in 1974 when Tandy Corporation demolished the Leonard's Department Store to build its corporate headquarters. This transformation marked a shift in downtown Fort Worth from retail commerce to corporate business.

The complex once housed a shopping center and ice skating rink that served as gathering places for the Fort Worth community. These facilities shaped the area's social life before the site became a business hub.

The location sits in the heart of Fort Worth's business district with good access to public transportation and on-site parking. The elevated skyway connecting the towers offers covered passage, which is especially helpful during rainy weather.

The property operated a private subway system from 1963 to 2002 that connected the main building to surrounding parking areas. This underground network was an unusual feature for Fort Worth and streamlined movement between the different sections.
