Le Jardin Secret, Park and resort hotel in Marrakech medina, Morocco.
Le Jardin Secret features two distinct gardens with exotic plant species, traditional pavilions, water basins, and shaded walkways adorned with green zellige tiles and smooth tadelakt plaster characteristic of upscale Moroccan architecture.
Created during the Saadian Dynasty over four centuries ago, this complex was reconstructed in the mid-1800s by an influential figure from the Atlas Mountains and served as residence for prominent Moroccan political leaders throughout its history.
The site embodies Islamic art and Arab-Andalusian architectural principles, featuring geometric gardens divided into four quadrants, pavilions with flowing gauze curtains, and symbolic decorations using white for peace, green for paradise, blue for protection, and red for prosperity.
Open daily from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM with reduced admission rates for Moroccan citizens and youth, the garden provides free cloakroom facilities, restrooms with baby changing tables, and complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the premises.
The complex remains one of the few riads connected to the historic khettara hydraulic system that channels water from the Atlas Mountains, and offers guided tower tours every fifteen minutes with panoramic views over the medina's rooftops.
