Rockets
Rockets is a restaurant, bar, and rooftop terrace on the top floor of the Times Square Casino in Pretoria. The menu covers handmade pizzas, pastas, grilled meats, sushi, and fusion dishes, and the bar offers beers, wines, champagnes, and cocktails.
Rockets opened in 2020, founded by Sean Barber and modelled on a successful venue in Bryanston, with the aim of bringing a new nightlife destination to Pretoria. Despite a difficult start, it gradually became a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.
The name Rockets fits a place built around energy and socialising, set high above the city rooftops. People come here to celebrate birthdays, catch up with friends, or simply end the evening with a drink and a view.
The rooftop terrace is open to the elements, so it is worth checking the weather before you go and dressing for an outdoor evening. Reservations are a good idea, especially on weekends when the venue stays open into the early morning.
Within the same building, directly below the rooftop terrace, is a club called Lolita's Side Chick, formerly known as Globe Bar. The club runs late-night dancing into the early hours with DJs such as DJ Speedsta and DJ Maphorisa.
