Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve

Moreleta Kloof is a nature reserve in Pretoria covering about 100 hectares of grassland and woodland habitat. Zebras, springbucks, blesboks, impalas, duikers, bushbucks, and ostriches roam freely across these natural landscapes.

The land was once a cattle farm operated by the Rademeyer family, whose farmhouse from 1903 still stands on the grounds. This historic building was later repurposed and continues to shape how the place functions today.

This place holds meaning for local communities as a space for learning about nature and conservation. Visitors can observe how educational activities connect people with the environment and wildlife protection.

Marked walking trails lead through different landscapes and offer various lengths for different fitness levels and time availability. It makes sense to visit early in the day and wear sturdy footwear to walk safely on the paths.

A tributary of the Moreleta Spruit runs through the grounds and provides year-round water for the animals living here. This permanent water source makes the area especially attractive to wildlife in the surrounding region.
