Chichibu Green Muse Park, park in Ogano, Japan
Chichibu Green Muse Park is a large outdoor recreation area in the hills of Ogano, Japan, with wide grassy lawns, wooded zones, and views toward Mt Buko. The grounds are divided into themed zones for sports, music, and culture, linked by walking routes and served by a small park train.
The site developed over time as a leisure destination among the Saitama hills, drawing people for its seasonal displays of flowers and autumn leaves. The ginkgo-lined route and the observation points for the first sunrise of the year later became the main reasons many visitors return.
The Sky Road path lined with ginkgo trees becomes a local gathering point when the leaves turn yellow, and visitors walk slowly beneath the branches to take in the color. Families also stop near the playgrounds and open lawns, where the rhythm of the day follows the changing light and the sounds of children playing.
Wear comfortable shoes because the different sections are spread out and you may walk or ride between them. Bring a warm layer if you visit early in the morning, since the hills can be cool before the sun rises above the peaks.
On some early mornings, low fog fills the valley below the park and hides the surrounding roads, leaving the hilltops visible above a white layer. The long wooden walkways then seem to end at the edge of the clouds rather than at a solid slope.
