Burj Park, park in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Burj Park is an urban park in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, set on a manmade island in Burj Lake with broad paved walkways and open grassy areas. The ground is mostly bare earth and patchy grass, while light-gray paths curve along the edges next to bright turquoise water.
The park opened in 2010 at the same time as the Burj Khalifa nearby, when the whole area around the lake was still being shaped. It has since been used for the official opening ceremony of that building and for large events such as televised shows and sports finals.
During Ramadan, an iftar cannon is fired from this open space at sunset to mark the end of the daily fast, a moment that gathers local families and visitors around the paved edge. The site also serves as a gathering point for public celebrations, where people spread out on the grass to watch light and water shows in the evening.
The park is flat and easy to walk around, with broad paved paths that follow the curved border and make movement simple for most visitors. It is a good spot to arrive a little early if you want a clear view toward the water and the surrounding towers.
Many visitors do not notice the roughly triangular shape of the island, which becomes clear only when seen from above or from the far side of the water. The curving walkways around the edge were designed to echo that shape, so the view changes slightly as you move along the pavement.
