Arabic Couple Statue together, Public monument in Downtown Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Arabic Couple Statue is a marble and granite monument depicting two standing figures in a close embrace located in Downtown Dubai. The sculpture combines both light-colored and darker stone to create contrast and visual interest in the urban landscape.

The 4.25-metre sculpture was installed in 2011 in Downtown Dubai, beside the entrance to the Burj Khalifa. It was made by the Syrian sculptor Lutfi Romhein on a commission from Samia Saleh, owner of the Courtyard Gallery.

The two figures wear the Emirati dish-dash and abaya, and the work is titled "Together". It was commissioned by Samia Saleh, owner of the Courtyard Gallery, and the Arabic press framed its unveiling as a celebration of Arab dignity beside the Burj Khalifa.

The sculpture stands in Downtown Dubai beside the entrance to the Burj Khalifa, at 4.25 metres tall, so it is easy to find on foot while walking the Burj Khalifa area. It sits in an open city-centre spot and can be circled on foot to see both the white Carrara marble and the black Swedish granite.

The sculpture was commissioned by Samia Saleh, owner of the Courtyard Gallery, and made by Syrian sculptor Lutfi Romhein. It stands 4.25 metres tall beside the entrance to the Burj Khalifa, pairing white Carrara marble with black Swedish granite to mirror the man's white dish-dash and the woman's black abaya.
