The Green Planet

The Green Planet is a zoo in Dubai with four floors of tropical habitats enclosed in a cylindrical glass structure. The facility displays thousands of plant, animal, and bird species living together in a controlled rainforest ecosystem.

The facility opened in September 2016 as part of Dubai's plan to create environmental education attractions in the city. The project emerged from a desire to bring visitors closer to understanding tropical ecosystems.

The name reflects a commitment to environmental stewardship and education. Visitors encounter interactive spaces designed to foster understanding about why rainforests matter to the world.

The site is accessible year-round with spacious walkways through all four floors, and you can move through them in any order. It helps to wear comfortable shoes and allow time for slow exploration, as there is much to discover.

The facility includes daily rain simulations that mimic the actual rainforest climate, showing plants and animals in their natural setting. This feature makes each visit a different experience depending on when you arrive.
